The Grille is a family owned and operated restaurant and bar located at 1813 Pearl Road, Brunswick OH 44212, established June 15th, 2007 by husband and wife, Argyrios (Artie) D. Kokkas and Gina B. Catalano-Kokkas. A graduate of The Hellenic Holy Cross School Of Theology & Brunswick High School, Artie is looking to turn around lives and to turn around a bar and restaurant that has gone through a menu full of owners over the years.
Born and raised in southern California Gina promises “We are here to stay! We’re not going anywhere.” Artie and Gina opened The Grille—most recently known as Johnny’s—in June, 2007 after running a successful chain of sub and pizza shops in Orange County, California.
In California Artie and Gina turned their four-store Sub Nation chain into a non-profit organization so proceeds could support their Parental Guidance Group Homes for teens. PG Homes provided homes for youths who were released from foster homes and into the world when they turned 18 years old. The program worked with local orphanages and provided a safe home with a training program where the kids could learn job and living skills.
With loyalty and love from The Grille Family and support of our community we hope to put smiles on everyone’s faces through friendly and exceptional service and food. One day The Grille will turn into a non-profit restaurant and be able to foster local youth once again. Until that day we will go the distance in doing our part with local schools, charities, children’s groups and activities etc. and help those in need one at a time… Thank you for being a part of The Grille Family!
