General Rules

- We are guests of each facility we participate. Facility rules must be followed.

- F.I.V.B rules will be followed with the modifications listed below for each facility. F.I.V.B rules can be found at http://www.fivb.org/EN/BeachVolleyball/Rules/rules.htm .

- You have paid for at least one gauranteed match every week of a season which consists of three sets (or games) during the regular season, and one week of playoffs where the format will be for a team to win 2 out of 3 sets in a match until a winner is determined. We will allow you to play for as much of the scheduled game time as possible, however at the referee or league director’s discretion, we may ask that you start a little late or end a little early.

-Players are responsible for any spectator they bring in. Spectators must follow the facility rules and must also demonstrate sportsmanship. If a spectator chooses not to follow the rules, they will be asked to leave the facility immediately without the ability to re-enter.

- Team captains accept responsibility for their players being aware and understanding the rules of the league they play in. If there are any questions, you may ask the referee or league director to clarify.

-Because someone has to be in charge, the on court referee will make all decisions regarding play and sportsmanship during a match. It is within their authority to eject a player and report it to the league director to determine if any further action is required.

ROSTERS

-Teams are provided to opportunity to list their players at the beginning of the season on the registration form. If additional spots are needed, you can submit them to the league director by the 7th week of play.

-In order to be eligible for playoffs, a player MUST have played with your team at least 2 times during the regular season and may not be on another team’s roster within the same league and division.

- NO player may be on multiple rosters within the same league & dvision. If a player eligibility is questioned, they will be asked for photo identification which must be presented to the league director and they must state which team they are rostered with. If it is discovered a player is playing illegally, that team the player is playing for may forfeit all games in which the play in question participated.

- Players MAY substitue for other teams throughout the course of a season.

-Only the team captain may question the eligibility of a player prior to the start of a playoff match. Once the match has ended, no eligibility questions will be allowed.

GAME PLAY

-Games start promptly as scheduled. It is your responsibility to be on time and warmed up. You will be allowed 5 minutes of warmup time on court prior to your match, but included within your scheduled playing time. Referees or league director may choose to allow extra time if necessary. Everyone’s time is valuable and we will show courtesy and respect to others by playing on time.

-Scoring will be rally scoring to 21. You will play a minimum of 1 match consisting of 3 sets (or games). Cap for each game is 23.

-If the 3rd set of a match starts with less than 12:00 minutes prior to the start of the next scheduled match, the referee may decided to h
